YEAR IN REVIEW - RECORD BOOK
The 2025 SLIAC Men's Cross Country season will be remembered for its competition throughout the season on a weekly basis and ultimately in the championship.
Greenville University matched its own conference record by winning the SLIAC Championship for a tenth consecutive year, originally setting that mark from 1998-2007. Greenville's title was the narrowest margin of victory since 2010 as Principia College finished just four points behind and Webster University pushing for third-place with 59 points.
Several runners battled each other throughout the year, with seven different runners accounting for eight Player of the Week honors. Much like the championship race, it was a bevy of freshmen at the forefront of the field. Greenville's Kaden Einhorn was his team's first finisher in every race during the year and became the 8th consecutive Panther to win the SLIAC individual title when he edged out Eureka's freshman Cole Glover. Glover got better as the season went along, recording a program best time in mid-October before having the highest finish ever by a Red Devil at the conference championships. Webster's Simon Muthemba was also a part of the freshman group, placing 3rd at the championships.
But it wasn't just the freshmen that made news, Principia senior Zach Proctor was the only repeat weekly award winner while Webster junior Ethan Nieroda out-paced every SLIAC runner at regionals; placing 80th overall.
