Westminster College continued its postseason run with a 2-1 win over Spalding University while Greenville University topped Blackburn College 11-3 in the semifinal round on Thursday.
#1 Greenville defeated #6 Blackburn, 11-3 BOX SCORE
- Blackburn was first on the board with a Kenadee Frey double in the top of the first inning
- Spalding responded with a Sarah Salas RBI double in the second
- Blackburn grabbed a 3-1 lead by plating two runs in the fourth
- Greenville exploded for 10 runs in the sixth inning
- Greenville finished with 11 hits in the game with Makenna Budde and Sarah Salas each delivering two hits
- Kendal Maddox had a game-high three hits for Blackburn
#5 Westminster defeated #2 Spalding, 2-1 BOX SCORE
- The Blue Jays grabbed the early lead when Taylor Engelmeyer hit a two-run single in the top of the first inning
- Spalding scored their only run of the game in the third inning on an RBI single from Braeanna Billups
- Madison Plybon picked up the win in the circle, going 7 innings and striking out two
