Talahiva Talanoa headlines the 2025 SLIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Conferece award winners after to close out her outstanding career. Talanoa was named the Field Athlete of the Year for the second straight year, becoming just the second athlete in conference history to win the award multiple times. Talanoa captured three golds at this year's championship, setting all-time conference records in her three main throwing events. She broke her own all-time mark in the shot put, by nearly four feet, throwing 48'0.75". This spring she has broke her own marks in the discus (142'10") and hammer (178'6"). Talanoa leaves with seven career gold medals at the SLIAC Championships and currently ranks 2nd in the nation in shot put, 7th in hammer, and 31st in discus.
While Talanoa is closing in on the end of her career, Sana Udoekong is just beginning. The sprinter at Principia College took home the Track Athlete and Track Freshman of the Year awards this weekend. She is the first athlete from Principia to win either award and is just the second athlete in conference history to sweep the awards in the same year. Udoekong won both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash events at this year's championship and was also a part of the silver medalist 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Her season best time of 12.21 seconds in the 100 is the 4th fastest in conference history while 24.75 seconds in the 200 is the 2nd fastest all-time.
Brooklyn Kelly goes down as the first athlete from Mississippi University for Women to be named the SLIAC Women's Field Freshman of the Year. The thrower finished 2nd in the shot put at this weekend's championship with a distance of 38'9.5", a seson best. She also picked up points in the hammer throw and competed in the javelin.
