The first round of the 2026 SLIAC Baseball Tournament featured a pair of pitching duels with Lyon College and Westminster College coming out on top to advance to the semifinal round. 

Quarterfinal Round - #3 Lyon defeated #6 Greenville, 4-3 BOX SCORE

• A three-run 4th inning proplled the home team, Lyon to a 4-3 win; their first tournament win since joining the conference
• Greenville grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 2nd with a two-run single by Joseph Guzman
• Lyon responded with a run in the bottom half of the 2nd before Landon Swallow gave the Scots the lead with a two-run home run in the 4th
• Greenville closed the score to 4-3 in the 5th but managed just one hit in the final three innings
• Three Scots had multiple hits in the game while Guzman and Matt Roco each had three hits for Greenville
• Aidan Linson worked 5 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the win while Thoms Irwin threw two scoreless innings to record the save

Quarterfinal Round - #5 Westminster defeated #4 MUW, 4-2 BOX SCORE

• The first runs of the game didn't come until the 5th inning on a RBI single by the Blue Jays' Troy Romero
• The Blue Jays tacked on two more runs in the 6th before MUW plated a pair of runs in the 8th
• Westminster scored an insurance run in the 9th on a RBI single by Donovan Bohler
• The Owls put two runners on in the bottom of the 9th but were unable to push across the tying run
• Bohler led Westminster with three hits while Zach Johnson also recorded three hits for MUW

• The SLIAC Tournament moves on to Car Shield Field in O'Fallon, Mo.
• #1 seed Webster will face #5 Westminster at 2 p.m. on Thursday
• #2 seed Spalding faces #3 seed Lyon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday
