Powell and Yunck Boast All-America Performances

The 2026 Track and Field season came to a close this past weekend with four student-athletes from the SLIAC competing at the NCAA Division III Championships and two walking away as All-Americans.

Keenan Powell was the highest finisher, placing 9th in the triple jump. Powell, a freshman at Greenville University, finished with a mark of 48'9". With his finish, Powell earns Second Team All-America status and becomes the first triple jump competitor to acieive that status in SLIAC history. 

His teammates Ty Kellum and Neko Gibson were also at the championships, competing in the 100 meter dash. Kellum, who was seeded 5th in qualifying, finished 17th with a time of 10.60 seconds. Gibson, who was seeded 19th, placed 22nd with a time of 10.71 seconds. 

Rebekkah Yunck represented Greenville on the women's field of competitors. Yunck competed in the javelin where she finished 14th with a mark of 135'4". Yunck is just the sixth woman athlete from the SLIAC to earn All-America honors, picking up a Second Team nod. 

Also from the SLIAC was Webster University's Dylan Patterson. Patterson was a third SLIAC representative in the 100 meter dash. Patterson placed 20th with a time of 10.68 seconds.
