Cameron James capped off his 2026 season as the SLIAC Men's Golf Player of the Year after winning the conference championship earlier this week. James, from MUW, paced the field of 64 players with a three-round score of 214. He led the field from the start, carding a round one low of 70. James followed up with a round of 66, tying for the second lowest score in championship history, before closing the tournament out with a 78. James is the second consecutive Owl to win the award.
This year's Freshman of the Year is Spencer Moody, from Grinnell College. The first-year player took the reigns for the Pioneers and led them at this year's championship. Moody finished with a total score of 216, finishing two strokes behind the leader. He finished the tournament with his best round, carding a 70 with four birdies and an eagle.
The 2026 SLIAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year is Connor McKay. McKay guided the Pioneers to the program's first ever conference championship. The Pioneers finished with a team score of 886 including a low round of 290 in the first round. Grinnell is the 10th different program to win a SLIAC Men's Golf Championship.
The final major award was the Team Sportsmanship award, which was voted on by league coaches, and goes to Lyon College.
