Dunigan Caps Historic Season as Wrestler of the Year

Schreiner University's Jania Dunigan caps her historic 2025-26 season as the SLIAC Women's Wrestler of the Year. The sophomore set conference records for wins in a season, pins in a season, and career pins. Dunigan was the 131 pound SLIAC Champion, her second straight title. She put together a 48-9 record this year with 21 pins and four titles. 

The 2026 SLIAC Freshman of the Year is Brooke Madden, from Huntingdon College. The first-year grappler was the SLIAC Champion at 117 pounds and compiled a 19-13 overall record this season. She finished with 10 pins and two titles. 

Schreiner Univeristy took the SLIAC Coaching Staff of the Year and McMurry Univeristy received the Team Sportsmanship award.
