Huntingdon College and Schreiner University wrapped up the 2026 SLIAC Women's Wrestling season over the weekend with trips to the regional qualifiers. Neither school had a wrestler qualify for the national tournament, which requires a wrestler to finish in the top three spots of their weight class.
Huntingdon finished 8th in the team standings at the Region III tournament heled in Franklin Springs, Ga. Aniyah Griffin was the team's top finisher, placing 4th at 180 pounds. Griffin went 4-2 on the weekend, at one point winning three consecutive matches, but fell in the 3rd place match by tech fall.
Jordan Epstein placed 5th at 103 pounds while Angie Knepp placed 6th at 131 pounds. The Hawks totaled 48.0 points, putting them 8th out of 18 teams in the field.
Schreiner competed at the Region VI tournament in St. Charles, Mo. The Mountaineers totaled 34.5 points, putting them 10th in a field of 15 teams competing. Jania Dunigan was the highest finisher, placing 5th at 131 pounds; going 2-2 on the weekend. Her teammate Jackelyn Sanchez placed 6th at 103 pounds, adding three wins to her season total.
