Former Principia College softball head coach Ken Leavoy was recently elected to the Softball Canada Hall of Fame. He will officially be inducted in November as member of the 2015 Softball Canada team.
Leavoy served as head coach at Principia College during two stints and helped bring back the Panthers program in 2010. He was named the 2011 SLIAC Co-Coach of the Year. The Panther program was a four time NFCA All-Academic Team and in 2019 the team had the 6th highest GPA in NCAA Division III.
Outside his Principia coaching duties he was a member of the coaching staff for the Canadian Women's National Softball Team. His duties with the program included talent scout and advance scout. While with the national team he helped guide the program to a Gold Medal in the 2015 Pan Am Games. After their win the team moved up to #3 in the world softball rankings. They followed up their gold medal with a 3rd place finish in 2016. He served in that role with the national team for eight years.
