Year in Review - RECORD BOOK

It was a dominating performance by Schreiner University as they won their second straight conference championship. The Mountaineers won eight individual titles, setting a new conference record, and had 15 medalists. Odelia Lopez led the way, winning at 103 pounds, capping off her conference record 33 wins during the season. 

Jasmine Gordon gave the Fontbonne University women's wrestling program an individual title, winning the 138 pound class and was named the Wrestler of the Meet. 

Lyon College had all five wrestlers that competed at the championships earn a placement with Rubi Gonzalez, Mikayla Wallace, and D'Mysha James finishing as runner-ups. 

Schreiner's Odelia Lopez, Azana King, and Lexys Basurto qualified for nationals while Eureka College's McKenzie Cook became the first Red Devil to accomplish the feat. Cook also tied the conference record with a pin fall in 23-seconds. 

Lopez picked up All-America honors after placing 5th at the NCWWC National Championship. She would go on to be named the 2025 SLIAC Women's Wrestler of the Year. 

In addition six wrestlers from the SLIAC were named NWCA Scholar All-America, all from Schreiner: Jaia Ashley, Ileah Brown, Jania Dunigan, Odelia Lopez, Symphanie Sampson, and Scarlett Snodgrass. 

The 2024 season saw three wrestlers reach the 30 win mark; all from Schreiner. Odelia Lopez was the leader with 33 and was followed by Jania Dunigan (31), and Azana King (30).

McKenzie Cook also tied the SLIAC record for fastest pin, winning in 23-seconds. Lopez finishes her career with 62 wins and an .827 winning percentage, both conference records while her teammate Ileah Brown is already the SLIAC leader in pin falls with 26.
