Year in Review - RECORD BOOK

Greenville's run of championships continued with another double title year for the men's team; giving them 14 of the conference's 15 championships in track and field history. 

The Panthers Chase LaTouche took home the Indoor Track Athlete of the Year award after winning three gold medals at the conference championship. His teammate Cory Stoll won the award for the outdoor season after collecting four medals including gold in the 200 meters. Fellow Panther Keenon Johnikin was the Outdoor Field Freshman of the Year, taking hime three medals at the championship. 

Outside of Greenville's dominance it was Lyon College's John Paul Morgan making headlines. Morgan won both the Indoor and Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year awards. At the indoor championship he won a pair of golds, setting a new conference record in the shot put and picked up another three golds and a silver at the outdoor championship. 

Jamarkus Walker of Spalding University was named the Indoor Field Freshman of the Year after grabbing a pair of silver medals in throwing events. Webster University's Lucas LaRue was selected as the Indoor Track Freshman of the Year after winning gold in the 60-meter hurdles. MUW's Cortland Earl was chosen as the Outdoor Track Freshman of the Year; medaling in two events at this year's championship including gold in the 110-hurdles.

Principia's Nana Koranteng was a national qualifier in the indoor triple jump, earning Second Team All-America honors. The jumper set a new conference mark in the event, jumping 47'3.5" this season.

Other indoor records to fall this year were the distance medley relay (Greenville), and long jump (Jordan Peternel). Outdoor records that were set are the 4x400 relay (Greenville) and pole vault (Mark Govero). 

LaTouche also tied the career mark for indoor gold medals with six and the outdoor mark with eight, with teammate Gianni Estrda also finishing his career with eight gold medals at the outdoor championship.
