It was quite the weekend for Lyon College's John Paul Morgan and Greenville University's Cory Stoll. The pair headline the list of 2025 SLIAC Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference award winners.
Morgan a junior, won his second straight SLIAC Field Athlete of the Year award after taking home three golds and a silver at this year's conference championships. Morgan defended his conference title in the discus with a season best throw of 150'6". He also had season best throws in the shot put, hammer, and javelin with conference highs this season in the shot put and discus while ranking second in the hammer and javelin. He is the second athlete in conference history to win the award in back-to-back seasons.
Stoll, a senior at Greenville, takes home his first ever individual All-Conference award. The versatile athlete was named the Track Athlete of the Year after collecting four total medals including gold in the 200 meters. He leads the conference in both the 200 meters and long jump events this spring and is a part of the gold medal winning 4x100 relay team.
His teammate Keenon Johnikin becomes the third Panther to win the Field Freshman of the Year award. Johnikin took home three medals at the conference championship. He finished 2nd in the high jump and 3rd in both the long jump and triple jump; ranking in the top three of the conference in all three events this season.
Cortland Earl is the first men's athlete from Mississippi University for Women to win a major individual award, being selected as the Track Freshman of the Year. Earl medaled in two of the six events he competed in over the weekend. He won gold in the 110 hurdles with a conference season best time of 15.60 seconds. He finished 3rd in the 400 hurdles and also picked up points for the Owls in both relay events.
The Greenville University coaching staff, led by Brian Patton, was awarded the SLIAC Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Panthers to their eighth straight conference title.
Lyon College was recognized with the SLIAC Team Sportsmanship award.
