The Greenville University women's track and field team added to its championship collection by winning the 2025 SLIAC Outdoor Track and Field title. The win is the Panthers fifth straight and sixth in program history. Greenville recorded 293 team points behind 11 individual gold medal winners and a sweep of the relay events.
Gretchen Carie took home gold in both the 1500 meters and steeplechase, marking the second straight year she won both events. Eva Schwaab found gold in the 800 meters for a second straight year while Alivia Clayton captured her first gold in the 5000 meters. TyKiaza Jones was a double gold winner after sweeping the 100 and 400 hurdles.
It was a record setting day in the field events for the Panthers, starting with Kenzie Kurdys on Friday night. The sophomore won gold in the pole vault with a mark of 12'9.5", setting a championship mark by over two feet. Talahiva Talanoa continued the record setting with her gold medal mark of 48'0.75" in the shot put. Talanoa also captured gold in the discus with a new championship mark of 136'8" and in the hammer with a new championship record of 172'5". Jazmyn Harmon picked up gold in the triple jump, marking the fifth straight year a Panther has won the event.
Principia College finished second with 133 points, its highest finish since winning the 1991 championship. Sana Udoekong shined in her first championship experience, winning gold in both the 100 meters and 200 meters; setting a new championship time in the 200 at 24.84 seconds. Myka Fenton took silver in the 800 meters with Sophia Green finishing 3rd in the 5,000 meters. Hannah Myers had a busy weekend, collecting gold in the high jump and long jump and silver in the triple jump. Mirsa Boyer (pole vault) and Ariana Williams (long jump) also picked up bronze medals.
MUW was 3rd with 91.5 points. Hannah Owens won multiple medals for the Owls, capturing gold in the 10,000 meters and silver in the 5,000 meters. Princess Lofton won silver in the 400 hurdles with Brooklyn Kelley finishing 2nd in the shot put. Arie'Onna McCollum took home silver in the discus and javelin.
Webster University came in 4th with 77 points. Elicia Theroff had the highest finish for the Gorloks, placing 2nd in the high jump. Meanwhile Isabelle Llewellyn wraps up her career with bronze in the shot put, hammer, and javelin.
Spalding University followed with 60.5 points. Muskan Jamshed captured silver in the steeplechase while Roslyn Stull took bronze in the 400 hurdles. Takara Williams also picked up bronze in the pole vault.
Coming in 6th was Westminster College with 50 points. Moenaisa Sidique won her third career gold in the 400 meters while Emma Braby captured gold in the javelin. Amber Dierling (discus) and Makayla Cordes (1500 meters) also medaled for the Blue Jays.
Lyon College tallied 28 points on the weekend. Brianna Krantz led the way for the Scots with her 3rd place finish in the 400 meters. Lana Ballard (400 meters) and Samantha Love (400 hurdles) also had top five finishes in their events.
Eureka College concluded the weekend with 5 points. Rachel Fisher had the highest finish for the Red Devils, finishing 5th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:40.27. Emily Baker also picked up a point in the 10,000 meters.
Blackburn College did not record any points but Gracie Jent just missed with her 9th place finish in the 1500 meters. Olivia Hamman and Michaela Moulton also competed in the shot put and discus events for the Beavers.
