Hannah Myers and Norah Atkins closed out their collegiate careers by taking home top individual honors for the 2026 SLIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field season.
Myers, a senior at Principia College, was named the Field Athlete of the Year. Myers put up a historic performance at this year's championship, sweeping all three jumping events, and becoming just the second athlete in conference history to accomplish that feat. Myers' gold medal winning mark in the high jump was 5.3.75", which tied the championship record. She also claimed gold in the long jump and triple jump.
Atkins, a senior at Greenville University, was chosen as the Track Athlete of the Year. Atkins had five medals in her career entering the championships but this year she finally grabbed her first gold medals. The middle distance runner won gold in both the 800 meters and 1500 meters races. Her winning time of 4:52.97 in the 1500 is a new championship record by nearly three full seconds.
This year's Field Freshman of the Year is Ariella Jones, from MUW. Jones walked away with a bronze medal in the triple jump, finishing with a season best mark of 35'1.25". She also picked up points in the long jump, placing 4th and competed on the Owls' relay team. Jones is the second consecutive Owl to win the award.
Abby Weishaar, from Greenville University, was selected as the Track Freshman of the Year. It was a busy day for the Panther freshman, competing in four events. She picked up her first career gold, winning the 400 meters, and added silver in the 200 meters. Weishaar was also a part of the Panthers relay teams, collecting two more gold medals.
Two more awards were handed out; Greenville University received the Coaching Staff of the Year with Webster University being voted to receive the Team Sportsmanship award.
