Monday was a historic day for the Eureka College baseball team. They started the day with a 6-0 win over Maranatha Baptist in game one of a doubleheader, but that would not be end of the team's highlights. In game two, Eureka won 25-0, the second largest margin of victory in program history, with Ethan McDonald throwing a no-hitter in the win.
With the Red Devil offense remaining busy, putting up runs in five of the six innings they batted including a 13 spot in the bottom of the 6th, McDonald had plenty of room to work, although he didn't need it.
McDonald worked seven innings, striking out 16 and walking none. The only base runner to reach came with one out in the 6th inning on an error. The no-hitter is the first in the SLIAC since 2022 when Alek Elges of Webster accomplished the feat.
