YEAR IN REVIEW - RECORD BOOK
Webster University added to its trophy case by winning its second consecutive regular season and tournament championships. The wins now give the Gorlok program 19 regular season trophies and 14 tournament championships; both conference records.
In addition to the Gorloks taking the title, the 2026 conference tournament had several stand-out moments to be remembered. Playing in the tournament for the first time, Lyon College won their first two games of the tournament including putting up 21 runs in the semifinal round. The Scots would finish the season with a 29-15 overall record, their most wins since joining the SLIAC.
One day after that scoring outburst it was Westminster College that made history by scoring a conference tournament record 26 runs in their elimination round game. The Blue Jays pounded out 21 hits in the game, scoring in every inning except one. They hit three home runs and had five different players finish with three hits each.
Zach Johnson, from MUW, took home the SLIAC Player of the Year award after hitting .409 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI while scoring 57 runs. Spalding's Cameron Rayborn finished 7-2 with a 3.35 earned-run average and 80 strikeouts while being named the SLIAC Pitcher of the Year.
Matthew Windham tied the conference record with a six-hit game while James Theodore's 76 hits put him in the top ten on the single season list. Zach Johnson finished his Owls career with a .397 average, good for 7th all-time in the SLIAC, while Westminster's Troy Romero sits 10th all-time with 225 hits and 4th in career stolen bases with 105. Spalding's Caden Krystofiak wrapped up his career with 299 strikeouts, 5th best in conference history while his teammate Cameron Rayborn finished 10th.
