In this week's Eye on the SLIAC we take a look at the annual Furry Frenzy Toy Toss held by Lyon College. Each year during a men's basketball game the Lyon SAAC group asks the campus and community in attendance to throw stuffed animals onto the court following the Scots first points of the game. The stuffed animals are then collected and delivered to a local non-profit group which disburses them among families for Christmas. This year the Lyon SAAC group collected 223 stuffed animals which were donated to the Angel Tree program sponsored by the Rotary Club of Batesville.

“This is one of our favorite service traditions at Lyon because it brings so much joy to the campus and to the children who receive the toys,” said SAAC adviser Kortney Cunningham. “The moment when the court is filled with stuffed animals is always meaningful. It’s a celebration of generosity, teamwork and the true spirit of the season.”
