This weekend SLIAC teams will head to Elsah, Illinois to compete in the SLIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Greenville University will look to sweep the men's and women's titles for the fourth consecutive year.

Greenville has leaders in a combined 25 events this season. Sara Yakana's name should be called often on Saturday, holding SLIAC bests in the 60 meters, 200 meters, triple jump, and long jump this season. Talahiva Talanoa will take aim at the SLIAC Championship marks in both the shot put and weight throw after having already set the all-time records in both events earlier this year. On the men's side Matt Binion will look to defend his shot put and weight throw titles in record setting fashion as well.

Fontbonne's Bryson Pickard has the top conference times in both the 200 meters and 400 meters as well as the 800 meters and is looking to become the first Griffin to collect gold at the indoor championship in men's program history. He has some competition in the 200 meters though from Lyon's Gage Jackson and Westminster's Elijah Teal.

Greenville's Joshua Medlin and Webster's Kaelin Triggs are separated by less than one second this season in the mile race. Over on the women's mile Karissa Heffernan (Eureka) looks to defend her title. Gianni Estrada (Greenville) could set another record in the men's 3000 meters, breaking his own mark he set last year, while Gretchen Carie looks to do the same on the women's side.

Alexa Lofgren, from Fontbonne, will look to defend her title in the 400 meters. Lyon's Brianna Krantz should push for a medal in the 400 meters. The battle in the 800 meters should include Eva Schwaab, from Greenville, and Eureka's Rachel Fisher, the defending champion.

The high jump will see a trio of players take aim for the title with Jakobe Alcorn (Lyon), Lawrence Harris (Greenville), and KeYonn Hall-Baker (Fontbonne) all within a quarter-inch of each other's top marks this season. Laila Graham will look to medal in the high jump and long jump.

Webster's Isabelle Llewellyn is coming off a program record throw last weekend in the weight throw and will look for a medal this year. Molly Koskey is the top women's performer for Blackburn, having team best marks in both the mile and 3000 meters while Sam Burrows and Christian Miller are ones to watch for the men. The first Owl to pick up a medal will be a race between Hannah Owens, Ty'Kerria Young, and Michaiah Adams. Nana Koranteng (Principia) and Alliyah Thomas (Spalding) will look for medals in the 400 meters while Spalding's Takara Williams ranks 2nd in the pole vault. Westminster's Kalie Strayhorn will compete in both the 200 meters and 60 meters.

On the men's side Howard James is Principia's best chance for a medal, having posted the second best distance in the long jump this season. Eureka's Bailey Webster and Anthony Delirea will compete in the 3000 meters. Tanner Collins, from MUW, ranks 4th in the SLIAC in the shot put this season and looks for his program's first SLIAC medal. Spalding's Erick Jenkins put up the 4th best mark in the triple jump this season and will look to medal.
