YEAR IN REVIEW - RECORD BOOK
Last year marked a season of growth for SLIAC men's wrestling. With the addition of Huntingdon College and McMurry University the conference had eight teams competing for the championship. Although pushed by a newcomer, it was the University of the Ozarks that ended up capturing its third consceutive conference championship.
Ozarks' Ka'Ron Lewis became the first Eagle to win the Wrestler of the Year award after going 22-6 overall with 9 pins as a heavyweight. Shelton Chastain wrapped up his collegiate career with a 31 season, giving him back-to-back 30 win seasons, and finishing as the SLIAC's career leader with 90.
Newcomer Huntingdon made an immediate impact on the conference, finishing 2nd at the championships, and recording 251 individual wins on the season; the second most in SLIAC history.
Westminster's Michael Roberts ended his Blue Jay career with 62 pins, a SLIAC record, a finishes as a three-time All-Conference wrestler and two-time individual champion.
