Men's Wrestling Season Concludes at Regionals

The 2026 SLIAC Men's Wrestling season wrapped up this weekend with competition at the NCAA Division III Region VI qualifier. Seven programs competed at the event, with X wrestlers placing, but none finishing in the top three of their weight class to claim a spot at nationals. 

The University of the Ozarks was the highest finishing team, placing 8th with 67.0 points. Javin Douglas and Ka'Ron Lewis narrowly missed out on qualifying, placing 4th in their weight classes; with a total of five Eagles placing in the tournament. Douglas won four matches at 133 pounds before losing in the 3rd place match while Lewis added three wins before falling in the 285 pound 3rd-place match. 

Huntingdon College was 9th with 52.0 points. Four Hawks placed in their weight classes with Kevin Shaw leading the way at 197 pounds with a 6th place showing. Cole Blalock finished 7th at 125 pounds while Damion Jones (157) and Steven Flagg (285) each placed 8th.

Schreiner University took 11th place with 37.0 points. A pair of Mountaineers placed, with Ashton Keller finishing 5th at 141 pounds and Jayden Bustillos placing 7th at 149 pounds. 

Eureka College placed 14th with 21.5 points. William Tucker grabbed 10.5 points for the Red Devils, placing 6th at 149 pounds. Tucker finished the weekend with a 3-3 record, falling in the 5th place match. 

Finishing 16th was Westminster College with 14.0 points. Michael Roberts secured 13.0 of his team's points. He picked up three wins, two by pin, before dropping his final two matches. 

Lyon College took 17th with 6.5 points. Eli Lupton totaled 4.5 points for the Scots, recording two wins while Ty Feruson also notched two wins, accumulating 2.0 points.

Blackburn College finished 18th with six wrestlers competing.
