Panthers Victorious at Indoor Championship

It was another victory for the Greenville University men's track and field program, winning its seventh consecutive SLIAC indoor title. The Panthers totaled 177.0 points, winning four individual events and adding another gold in the 4x400 relay. Ty Kellum lays claim to the conference's fastest man, winning the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.86 seconds. Will Patzia won gold in the 800 meters while Eric Mitchell placed first in the weight throw. Keenan Powell stays at the top of the league in the triple jump with a new championship mark of 47'9". 

Webster University finished 2nd with 127.0 team points. The Gorloks had a pair of gold medal winners in Brayden Halter (mile) and Mark Govero (pole vault). Govero wins his second straight title, breaking his own championship mark with a height of 15'9".

MUW placed 3rd with 72.0 points thanks to three individual gold medals. Cortland Earl finished first in the 60 hurdles while Malachi Morgan grabbed a pair of golds in the high jump and long jump.

There was a tie for 4th place with 62.0 points between Spalding University and Principia College. Chad Dahl shined for Spalding, capturing gold in both the 200 meters and 400 meters. Zach Proctor won the only gold for Principia, finishing first in the 3000 meters.

Blackburn College took 6th place with 31.0 points. Leland Branstner puts his name in the program record book as the first Beaver to not only medal at the indoor championship but win gold, taking first in the shot put. 

Westminster College finished with 19.5 points, placing 7th. Lee Ivy III took fourth place in the weight throw while Aidan Szczodroski was fifth in the 60 hurdles. 

Eureka College was 8th with 19.0 points. The Red Devils were led by Bailey Webster's performance, finishing second in both the mile and 3000 meters.

Lyon College finished the weekend with 8.5 total team points. The Scots best performance came in the high jump where Frederick Canady finished seventh.
