Year in Review - RECORD BOOK
MUW defended their SLIAC Championship by shooting a conference record 853 over three rounds. They were off and running from the start, putting up the 5th lowest round in tournament history on the first day, and became just the 6th program to win back-to-back titles. Matt Wilkinson became the first Owl to win an individual title while Zach Riley made the cut at nationals, finishing 31st overall.
Other highlights included Jarrett James wrapping up his collegiate career at Illinois College with his third First Team All-Conference performance. James concludes his career with a 74.1 average, the 3rd best in conference history.
Tyler Wengronowitz took a step forward as a sophomore for Lake Forest, finishing with a 73.1 average and tying for second-place at the conference championships. Similarly Westminster College's Aidan Fonke led the Blue Jays with seven top team finishes during the year including a pair of wins.
In addition to setting a new conference record for three round score, MUW set a new SLIAC mark for team season average at 294.1, just out pacing Lake Forest who is second at a 297.5. The 2025 SLIAC Championship saw three teams take the top three spots in the record book for low championship round.
Lyon College freshman Brooks Vangilder had an impressive debut at the conference championships; carding a championship record round of 63 while Matt Wilkinson was just two shots off the championship record with a 210 in capturing the Owls first individual title.
