Alexis Martinez has been voted the 2025 SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year, capping her dominant freshman season. Martinez, who was also named the SLIAC Freshman of the Year, becomes the first runner in since 2010 to win both awards in the same season.

Martinez needed little time in acclimating herself to collegiate competition, placing second on the team in her debut before finishing first in her team's next five races. She captured the SLIAC individual championship with a time of 23:40, 23-seconds faster than the next runner. Martinez was also the league's top finisher at regionals placing 70th overall in the Midwest Region with a time of 24:04. She finished the year with three of the league's top four times in 6K distance this fall.

The Greenville University coaching staff, headed by Brian Patton, took home the conference's top coaching award while Lyon College was voted tops in Team Sportsmanship.
