The SLIAC is pleased to announce that its 2024 Post-Graduate Scholars are Isabella Beasley and Thibaut Tignee. Each year the conference presents two graduating senior student-athletes with a $1000 scholarship that can be used during the first two years of postgraduate studies.
Isabella Beasley, a senior at Lyon College, holds a 3.89 grade-point average while majoring in Biology and Chemistry. A member of the Scots volleyball team for four years, Beasley also serves as an executive member for the Lyon College Student Government Association; including a stint this year as its President. Beasley is also involved in several campus committees including an ad hoc committee addressing Title IX complaints. Beasley plans on obtaining a Masters degree and then a Ph.D. in wetland ecology, focusing on Conservation and Restoration.
Thibaut Tignee is a senior at Greenville University, where he carries a 3.85 grade-point average and is majoring in Physics and Math. A four-year member of the Panthers men's tennis program, Tignee has served as a Resident Assistant for the last three years as well as a Teaching Assistant and tutor since his freshman year. Student-athletes are nominated by their institution’s Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), must have earned two varsity letters in a sport in which the Conference sponsors a Championship and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
