The 2024 SLIAC Women's Golf Championship is set for this weekend, beginning on Sunday, October 6. The tournament is a three day championship, with one round being played on each day. Sunday and Monday tee times are staggered, starting at 10 a.m. with Tuesday's final round beginning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. The tournament field will include 9 teams and 51 total players battling for the league's individual championship and automatic team qualifier for the NCAA Division III Championship.
Blackburn College has a full team competing in the championship for the first time since 2019. The Beavers are led by Allison Woolard with a 91.4 average this season although Caidy Tuetken is tied with Woolard for the team lead with two top finishes. The Beavers hold a 394.6 team averaage this fall and carded a 387 in their last outing, the Country Club Classic back on September 30th.
Eureka College is coming off its best championship showing in program history whey carded a 392 in the final round of the 2023 championship. The Red Devils will send off Ashlyn Voyles to start the event. Voyles carries a 93.8 average with a low round of 89 this fall. KayLee Hohlbauch and Gabby Penberthy will follow in the lineup. The Red Devils hold a team average of 410.8 this fall.
Fontbonne University will be making one last appearance in the tournament field and are led by Annie McFee. The senior holds an 83.8 average with three top finishes this fall. She carded a low round of 74 back on September 23rd. Lexi Moore follows with her 87.5 average and two top finishes. The Griffins carry a 437.8 team average.
Grinnell College is the five-time defending SLIAC Champion. They set a conference championship record at least year's tournament and have the last two SLIAC individual champions in their lineup. Meilin Hoshino took last year's title with a 212 while Kavya Keshav won in 2022. Hoshino has a conference best 73.2 average this fall while Keshav is at 77.2 The Pioneer lineup also boasts All-Conference performers Amy Nguyen, Emily Lackershire, and Vidushi Keni. The Pioneers have a 298.2 team average over three events this fall.
Illinois College enters the tournament with a 334.4 team average and three wins this fall. Two-time All-Conference performer Kate Burr will lead off for the Lady Blues. Burr holds a 81.4 average with a low round of 77 this fall. Katie Mae Milhiser (82.4) and Hannah Harpster (84.4) follow in the lineup. Emily Guest shot a team best round of 76 back on September 14th.
Lake Forest College has twice finished 2nd at the championship including last year when they shot a three-round score of 970. The Foresters have played in seven events this fall, capturing four wins and have a 333.8 team average. Gabrielle Krebs paces the team with her 78.7 average, shooting a low round of 72 this fall. Along with Krebs; Alijah Campbell, Ashlyn Bhatia, and Sydney Foulon give the Foresters their top four players returning from last year's championship.
Lyon College earned a 6th place finish at last year's championship, its first with the league. They have a 382.0 average this fall and are led by Jesi Odom and her 91.8 average. Madison Robb and Emma Johnson follow in the lineup.
Spalding University, the only other program to win a SLIAC Championship, finished 3rd at last year's event. Jordan Harris will step up to the tee box first for the Golden Eagles. She is a three-time All-Conference player and holds a 81.6 average over five rounds this fall. Alexis Seay is a two-time All-Conference performer and leads the team with a 79.6 average. The Golden Eagles carry a team average of 335.2 in their two events this fall.
Westminster College is sending a full lineup to the championship for the fourth straight season. The Blue Jays hold a team average of 481.0 and have played in three events this fall. Elle Turner leads it off for the Blue Jays and is followed by Caragan Lockard and Charlotte Kurtz.
Monmouth College and MUW will be sending individuals to compete in this year's tournament. Annalyn Lovell and Lexie Campbell will represent Monmouth while Ashley Estabrook, Sara Grace Ramey, and Reagan Hammack will tee off for MUW.
Others competing as individuals will be Mary Li, Waverly Yang, Saya Geisendorfer, and Sara Meneses from Grinnell as well as Amanda Adley from Lake Forest.
