Pioneers 15th at NCAA Championship Grinnell finishes 6 spots higher than national ranking 5/22/2026 4:58:00 PM By: Ted Schultz Results PALM DESERT, Calif. - Grinnell College's women's golfers posted their second-best 72-hole score in program history while wrapping up the NCAA Division III Championships with a score of 1234 on Friday. The Pioneers finished 15th in the event, six spots higher than the No. 21 ranking with which they entered the tournament. The Pioneers shot a 301 Friday at Desert Willow Golf Resort, their second-best 18-hole round of the tourney. Their overall score ranks only behind the 2025 total of 1220 on the program's all-time board. Grinnell's 15th-place finish is the fourth-best in program history. Vidushi Keni '26 wrapped up a stellar career by moving up 15 spots on the final day into 27th-place finish in a field of 176 golfers. She had three birdies on Friday for a 71 and had a four-day total of 296, which ranks second in program history only behind Kavya Keshav's '26 total of 293 a year ago. Keni's placing is the sixth-best national finish in GC history. Waverly Yang '28 shot 75 on Friday and Keshav tallied a 76, with each recording three birdies. Amy Nguyen '26 came in at 79 and Saya Geisendorfer '27 shot 85. Keshav was Grinnell's next-best overall shooter with a 311, which ranks seventh in GC history, while Yang had a 315. Nguyen and Geisendorfer each finished with 323s. Carter Sichol of Carleton was the individual champ with a 283 and Emory won the team title with an 1154.
