2019 Men's Cross Country Players of the Week

Nathan Freyling, Webster University

Freyling, a junior from Fenton, Mo., picks up this week's weekly award after a team-best finish at the highly competitive Kollege Town Sports Invitational. Freyling completed the 8K course in a time of 26:45, finishing 123rd overall. His time was a season-best and topped his previous career-best mark.

Abe Ott, Principia College

Ott raced his way to a 4th place finish at the Illinois College Invitational last weekend to pick up weekly honors. The senior from Durango, Colo. completed the 8K course in a time of 27:03, finishing as the top Division III runner in the race by over 90-seconds. His race time was also a full minute faster than his previous season-best time.

Dane Thomas, Spalding University

Thomas, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., raced his way to a time of 26:56 in last weekend's Greater Louisville Classic. Competing in a field of nearly 300 runners Thomas finished 168th overall. He cut nearly three-minutes off his previous season-best time on an 8K course and captured his first top team finish this season.

Abe Ott, Principia College

Ott, a senior from Durango, Colo., picks up his first Player of the Week award this season after being the highest placing runner from the SLIAC at last weekend's H.W. Wright Classic. Ott finished the 8K race in a time of 28:22, finishing 8th overall in a field of 91 runners.

Dylan Goodyear, Greenville University

Goodyear, senior from Wentzville, Mo. picks up his second weekly award of the season. He placed 8th individually at the Midwest Intercollegiate Championships. Goodyear completed the 8K course in a time of 27:10 and was the top Panther finisher in a field of 94 runners. 

September 16, 2019    

Will Brittain, Spalding University

Brittain, a junior from Lexington, Ky., takes home the SLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for September 16. Brittain placed 8th individually at the Berea Invitational. He finished the 8K course in a time of 27:28 and helped the Golden Eagles to a 4th place finish in the field of 10 teams. 

September 9, 2019    

Dylan Goodyear, Greenville University

In his first race of the season, Dylan Goodyear picked up a 5th place individual finish to help the Panthers finish 3rd in the field as a team. Goodyear, a senior, completed his 7K course in a time of 23:32, averaging 5:10 per mile. Goodyear was the top finishing DIII runner in the race.

  Cameron Sakuma, Webster University

Sakuma, a freshman from Fort Zumwalt West in O'Fallon, Mo., begins his collegiate career with top weekly honors in men's cross country. Sakuma placed 7th overall at the WIU Early Bird Invitational, finishing in a time of 20:31 for the 6K race. That mark was the 11th fastest in program history and helped the Gorloks to a 3rd place team finish.
