Grinnell men's golf team breaks 61-year-old school record for 36 holes Pioneers post 2-day total of 594 at Wartburg Spring Invite 3/31/2026 8:50:00 AM By: Ted Schultz Results WAVERLY, Iowa - Grinnell College's men's golf team broke a 61-year-old school record for 36 holes as the Pioneers posted a strong finish at the Wartburg Spring Invite Sunday. Grinnell repeated Saturday's round of 297 with another 297 at Prairie Links Golf Course, giving the Pioneers a two-day score of 594. That broke the previous school mark of 596 set in 1964 and tied in 1965. Roger Smith '28 and Josh Udelson '29 were Grinnell's top shooters Sunday, each posting rounds of 1-over-par 73. Everett Williams '29 added a 75, Spencer Moody '29 had a 76, Harrison Elliott '29 recorded a 78 and Max Shin '29 shot 80. Moody was the Pioneers' top finisher for the meet at 2-over-par 146, good for eighth place. Smith tied for ninth at 147 and Williams tied for 11th at 148. Also for Grinnell, Udelson had a 155, Shin added a 160 and Elliott shot 161. Kirkwood was the team champ with a 580 and Upper Iowa's Owen Davison won the individual crown with a 138.
