The Eagles had success at the Central Baptist College Mustang Invite today with seven wrestlers finishing among the top-4 in their respective weight classes and as a team finished fourth.
Javin Douglas won his weight class (133) while
Jemarion Moore Kingsberry (174) placed second overall.
Shelton Chastain (125) placed third overall while
Andrew Dado (149),
Carter Taylor (133),
Cameron Hebert (141) and
Jadaan Anderson (197) had fourth-place finishes.
Douglas opened with a win by medical forfeit over Emilio Santana from Life University. He followed that with a win by tech fall over Alex Tabor from Lindsey Wilson. In the first-place match, Douglas won by major decision over nationally-ranked Logan Crawford from Northeast Oklahoma. Crawford was ranked No. 11.
Moore had his best performance of the season advancing all the way to the finals. Moore won by decision over Ethan Nicholas from Northeast Oklahoma. In the first place match, Konlin Weaver from Life University won by tech fall.
In the quarterfinal match, Mason Gillispie from Northeast Oklahoma won by decision, but Chastain battled back and won by decision. Chastain then won in sudden victory over Daniel Glenn from Oklahoma Wesleyan.
Dado lost his first match against Ethan Pappan from Northeast Oklahoma. Dado returned to win by fall over Dregen Murray from Oklahoma Wesleyan. He followed that with back-to-back wins. Dado then faced Pappan again, and lost by fall.
Taylor won by fall to open his day, but lost against Logan Crawford from Northeast Oklahoma by tech fall. Taylor fought back and won by fall over Bobby Estrada from Cumberland. In the third place match, Taylor lost to Bentley Ellison from Cumberland by decision.
Hebert opened with a win by decision, but lost his second match. Hebert responded with a win by forfeit. In the third place match, Tyler Misenheimer from Northeast Oklahoma won by tech fall.
Anderson lost to Tyler Rowland from Cumberland by fall. Anderson answered with a win by fall against over Roman Corral from Williams Baptist. Anderson won again by fall against Bailey Jones from Lindsey Wilson. Anderson would drop his final match against Rowland on a major decision.
