Eureka College's David Hidden has been selected by the NCAA to serve as part of its National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

“This position attracted my attention from the possible connections associated with becoming a national member of SAAC, along with the potential growth of my understanding as a leader," said Hidden. "Through this grateful experience, I hope to achieve better knowledge of the history of SAAC, as well as to give Eureka College and the SLIAC a bigger voice on a national platform. I’m gracious of the people who have helped me reach this position, and I’m very excited to get started.”

Hidden, a junior baseball player at Eureka College, will serve as an Associate Member; representing the SLIAC. He will be one of 12 associate members and work with the 10 primary members selected as part of Division III National SAAC. SAAC represents the Division III student-athlete voice in the Division III governance structure by reviewing legislation; identifying significant student-athlete issues; implementing national student-athlete based initiatives; encouraging community outreach; and enhancing Division III student-athlete involvement in and understanding of Division III in general. SAAC is also the committee that is primarily responsible for maintaining and coordinating the division’s nationwide partnership with Special Olympics. The committee meets in-person four times each year in January, April, July and November.
