  • Blue Jays Baseball Picks Up ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
    July 26, 2016
    The successful Westminster baseball season is still being noted, but this time the award comes for their achievements in the classroom. The Blue Jays are recipients of the 2015-16 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, which honors high school and college programs that post a team GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.

  • Hughes and Uhrich Named All-American, 10 Pick Up All-Region

    Deion Hughes, from Westminster College, and Kyle Uhrich, from Webster University, were named D3baseball.com 2016 All-Americans while a total of 10 players from across the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference received All-Region honors.

    The Westminster baseball season came to a close on the second day of the NCAA Division III Central Regional Tournament. The Westminster Blue Jays fell to Wartburg College in the first elimination game, 8-0.
  • Blue Jays Draw Wisconsin-Whitewater In Opening Round

    The Westminster baseball team drew the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the Central Region of the NCAA Tournament. The Westminster Blue Jays face off with the Warhawks on Wednesday, May 18, at 12:00 pm at the GCS Ballpark, the home of Webster University, in Sauget, Ill.
  • Three Tigers Earn USCAA All-American Honors
    May 16, 2016
    Iowa Wesleyan had three players receive USCAA All-American honors. Baseball had one member receive honors and the USCAA announced the award on May 9, 2016 at the championship banquet. The Iowa Wesleyan softball had two players earn the All-American honors for their performances this year, and the USCAA announced the awards on May 15, 2016 at the softball championship banquet.
  • In the Nick Of Time, Blue Jays Come Through With SLIAC Title

    Nick Bohlmann and Nick Cessna came through in the nick of time for the Blue Jays, sparking Westminster College to a 9-5 win in a winner take all game against Greenville College; capturing the Blue Jays first conference tournament title since 1999.

    The final St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship of the year will take place this weekend with the 2016 Baseball Tournament. The tournament field will included Greenville College, MacMurray College, Webster University, and Westminster College.

  • Jared Jones Named SLIAC Male Scholar-Athlete

    Blackburn College Senior Jared Jones was just named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2015-16 school year. Jones, from Mitchell, Indiana, has excelled in the classroom while also being a four-year member of the baseball team. Jones has also been the manager of the athletic program for the past three years in the Blackburn College Work Program.
  • Fontbonne's Santarsiero Adds Weekly Honors

    Fontbonne junior starting pitcher Vince Santarsiero added to his weekly honors. After being named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week he was also named to D3Baseball.com's Team of the Week.

  • Webster's Uhrich Goes Deep Three Times

    The Webster University baseball team extended its winning streak to seven games, overpowering Principia College, 12-4 and 13-6, on April 22 at GCS Ballpark. Kyle Uhrich tied a Webster single game record with three home runs and Mike Wick went deep twice as the Gorlok offense unloaded on the Panthers.
  • Westminster's Hughes Grabs Two More Records

    Westminster senior Deion Hughes makes two pitching marks in the record books with Saturday's doubleheader sweep over MacMurray College. Hughes broke the season wins and complete games records during the game one 5-4 win. The Westminster baseball team went on to win game two, 9-2. The wins bring the Blue Jays to 20-10 on the season with an 11-4 conference record.

  • Westminster's Hughes Records 100th Career Coaching Win

    Westminster baseball head coach Denny Hughes recorded his 100th win at Westminster after Saturday's doubleheader sweep over Eureka College. Hughes joined the Westminster baseball team in 2012, averaging 20 wins a season with 10 games still to play in the 2016 season.

He broke the career runs record and the RBI record in game one and tied the career home run record in the first game, and junior Connor Hager hit for the cycle (hit a single, double, triple and a home run).
