Pairs From Fontbonne and Webster Earn Scholar All-Region (Dec. 8, 2017)
A pair of student-athletes from both Fontbonne University and Webster University earned 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's Scholar All-North/Central Region honors. Being recognized this fall for their efforts both in the classroom and on the soccer field are Fontbonne's Ellen Weaver and Meredith Wendt and Webster's Elena Bloma and Brianna Pagan.....MORE

Blackburn College

The Blackburn men's basketball team is off to an impressive start this season, sitting in first place in the SLIAC standings with a 3-0 record. The Beavers conclude their conference play before winter break with a game against Iowa Wesleyan this Saturday. The Beavers are currently 5-1 overall this season.

Eureka College

Eureka senior guard Hayley Reneau picked up her second SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award on Monday. Reneau averaged 23.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 4.7 steals over three games last week. She is currently first among SLIAC players this season, averaging 25.0 points per game.

Fontbonne University

Fontbonne will host their final conference games before the break on Saturday in a basketball doubleheader against Greenville. The women's game will tip at 1 p.m. while the men's game is set for a 3 p.m. start. The Lady Griffins are currently 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the SLIAC while the men are 2-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Greenville University

The Greenville women's basketball team remains the only remaining undefeated team in conference play. The Panthers are 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the SLIAC. They return to the court with a pair of road conference games this week, at Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday and at Fontbonne on Saturday.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Iowa Wesleyan senior Brock Butler was named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after pouring in a career-high 39 points against Greenville in the Tigers' lone game last week. Butler shot 16-of-28 from the field and scored 27 of his points in the first-half, over half of his team's first-half totals. Butler also added 10 rebounds and five assists while playing all 40 minutes in the game.

MacMurray College

The MacMurray basketball teams will host Spalding in a conference doubleheader on Saturday, their final SLIAC games before the New Year. The women's team, 3-7 overall and 1-1 in the SLIAC, will tip at 1 p.m. while the men, 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the SLIAC, will start at 3 p.m.

Principia College

The Panthers head into Saturday's showdown against Westminster having won two of their last three games. In fact, their only loss was a three-point loss to Webster, sandwiched between the two wins. Principia is 2-4 overall and among six other teams tied for second place in the SLIAC with a 2-1 conference record. 

Spalding University

The Golden Eagles women's basketball team was unable to overcome a slow start in their game against Westminster, eventually falling 65-56. Spalding was down 23-11 after the first quarter, making a late push with 24 points in the fourth quarter but came up short. The Golden Eagles were led by Alex Martin's 13 points while Lelanda Matthews added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Webster University

The Webster men's basketball team has won three straight games to improve to 5-4 overall this season. After defeating Fontbonne last week the Gorloks will look to put together a conference winning streak when they face Eureka on Saturday in Eureka, Illinois.

Westminster College

The Westminster men's basketball team edged out Spalding in a back-and-forth game last Saturday, winning 67-64. The Blue Jays held a lead as large as 17 points in the game only to see Spalding roar back and take an 11 point lead with just over five minutes left in the contest. Westminster closed out the game by outscoring Spalding 20-6 in the final five-minutes with Kobe Wands leading the way with 21 points.
