Webster Women's Soccer Recognized For Sportsmanship (Dec. 21, 2017)
The Webster University women's soccer team was among the schools recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for their sportsmanship this past fall, receiving the Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Silver Award. Webster was one of just 103 schools across all collegiate divisions to be honored.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Spalding at Eureka (Jan. 2, 2018)
The first full night of games this calendar year begin with this week's SLIAC Game of the Week between the women's basketball teams of Eureka College and Spalding University meeting on Wednesday. Eureka and Spalding enter the night in the top half of the conference teams with the winner looking to start separating themselves from the rest of the league.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Jamaya Wyatt had a game to remember against Loras. Not only did he score a career-high 28 points, in just 22 minutes coming off the bench; but he did so while shooting 12-of-12 from the field. Wyatt made all 12 of his two-point shot attempts and added four free-throws. Wyatt and the Beavers are currently 6-5 overall and return to action on Saturday against Greenville.

Eureka College

Eureka senior guard Hayley Reneau won her third SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award this season, and fourth in her career. Reneau averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 blocked shots in two games before the break. This season she is leading the SLIAC in scoring at 24.3 points per game, good for 4th nationally.

Fontbonne University

Fontbonne junior guard Paige Black has become one of the top sharpshooters in the SLIAC this season, leading the conference in made three-pointers. Black knocked down 39 total three-pointers in her first two years as a Griffin and has already surpassed that this season with 40 in 13 games. Black is averaging 12.8 points per game this year and returns to the court tonight against Westminster.

Greenville University

After the first portion of the season, the Greenville women's basketball team sits in first-place in the conference standings with a 4-0 record. The Panthers carried a four-game winning streak into the break and put that on the line this week with games against MacMurray and Blackburn and with a 9-2 overall record will look to become the first ten game winner this season.

Iowa Wesleyan University

The Iowa Wesleyan men's and women's basketball teams will begin the new year with a conference doubleheader against Webster on Wednesday night. They will then play host to Westminster in another SLIAC doubleheader on Saturday. 

MacMurray College

The MacMurray men's basketball team wrapped up 2017 with an exciting 70-67 overtime win over Sewanee on December 31st. The Highlanders tied the game up when Kendall Davis split the lane with just under a minute left in regulation. MacMurray controlled overtime with Michael Cameron sealing the win with a pair of free-throws. MacMurray has now won three of their last four games and are 4-6 overall.

Principia College

Principia started 2018 with a bang, topping Blackburn, who entered tied for first in the SLIAC, 80-66. Principia shot 58-percent from the field while turning the ball over just 11 times. Three Panthers reached 20 points with Micah Paulson leading the way with 24 points. Principia is now 4-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play. They will host Eureka on Saturday.

Spalding University

Webster University

The Webster men's basketball team had opened December with a three-game winning streak but saw that streak snap by dropping their final two games before the break. The Gorloks are 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the SLIAC this season. They will travel to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday as they open up play in 2018.

Westminster College

The Westminster men's basketball team begins 2018 in a three-way tie for first-place in the SLIAC standings with a 3-1 record. The Blue Jays had a four-game winning streak snapped in a 79-71 loss to Washington University-St. Louis on December 31. The Blue Jays start 2018 play on Wednesday night against Fontbonne.
