This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are: Deavis Johnson, from MacMurray College; and Emily Camden, from Eureka College.
SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Johnson, a senior from East St. Louis, Mo., averaged a double-double in two conference wins last week, helping his team remain tied for first-place in the SLIAC standings. Johnson tallied 23 points, on 10-of-15 shooting, with 17 rebounds in a win over Webster; adding five assists. Johnson then sparked his team to a win over Spalding, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Johnson scored a team high 12 points in the second-half of the game, leading his team back from a five point halftime deficit. On the week Johnson averaged 22.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. This marks the second time this season he has taken home weekly honors.
SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Camden, a senior from Green Valley, Ill., led her team in scoring in both games last week; averaging 19.5 points per game. Camden scored a team high 14 points while battling foul trouble against Iowa Wesleyan. She rebounded nicely with 25 points in an overtime win over Fontbonne, going 7-of-12 from the field. Camden scored her team's final five points of the game against Fontbonne, including knocking down three free-throws with just 0.7 seconds remaining on the clock in overtime to give her team a two point win. This is her first SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award this season.
- Krista Armontrout, Westminster College (Women's Basketball) Armontrout recorded her fifth double-double of the season in a win over Webster with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
- Shea Feehan, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Feehan averaged 29.0 points over two games last week, including a 34 point effort in a win over Fontbonne.
- Hunter Ward, Webster University (Men's Basketball) Ward averaged 17.0 points in two outings last week, shooting 51.9 percent from the field.
